ひこばえ（蘖）・・・ブルーベリー、シャープブルー2013年春 [園芸]
昨年（2012年）の秋からの園芸は散々でした...
10月の開花以降、昨年までは年内、細々と咲かせ続けてきたデンファレは、あるタイミングで全ての株で花芽を落としてしまい...
デンドロビウムは蕾がついても、多くの蕾が開花せずに芽を落とす、もしくは開花しても花の形がおかしい...
カトレア、リカステは蕾が大きく膨らんだところで、そのまま開花せず、茶色に変色してしまい、オンシジウムは株そのものが枯れてしまいました...
洋ランの育成失敗については、温度管理、水やり管理の油断が大きな原因だと思います...
そして、今年に入り、ベランダではブルーベリー（シャープブルー）を水切れさせていまいました...
年明け早々に蕾が動いていることは把握していたのですが、気温は大変低く、水やりは少なくて良いと、水をあげることなく、ベランダに出ることもなく、そのままにしておりましたら、気づいた時には枝までしわしわとなってしまっておりました...
しわしわになってしまった枝を見て、木は丈夫といいながらも、今回はもう駄目かも？と反省したものです...
素人考えで、葉っぱが少しでも出てきてくれれば、光合成ができますのでなんとかなる...そこまで木に体力があるのかが、生きるか枯れるかの分かれ目と思っておりました...
とりあえず水をあげ続け、暖かくなっても動きがなければ諦めようと、諦めつつ水やりと観察を続けて3週間あまり...木の幹下の方に少し動きが出てきました！
駄目だと思っていた植物がたくましく生きており、なりふり構わず幹より枝を伸ばしてくる姿を見て、植物を育てていて本当に良かった！と、とても感心させられてしまいます（反省していないですね...）。
今では、葉っぱもそれなりに揃ってきたことですし、峠？は越えたかなと思っております。
今年は当然ながら、実はおろか花も咲きませんので、1年間しっかり育てて、来年は花が咲くと良いなぁと思っております。
さて、本日、たまたまNHKを見ておりましたら、桜の守人と呼ばれている方が、枝の下の方から伸びてくる若い枝を「ひこばえ」と呼んでおりました。
その言葉を聞いて、今回のブルーベリーのこの枝達も、まさに「ひこばえ」であったことを実感しました...
ネットで調べますと、植物が生命の危機を感じた時に、幹の下の方から元気よく伸ばす若枝のことを指すようです...確かに生命の危機に晒してしまいました...ごめんなさい。
さてさて、実はブルーベリーのもう一鉢ミスティもホワイトマルベリーも今は我が家のベランダにはありません。
このあたりの話は次回以降とさせていただきます...おしまい。
